GEORGINA - MANAGER Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2020

Georgina began her journey with us in July 2004 when she started as an apprentice. Georgina became Deputy Manger in 2009 and after a successful suitable person interview with Ofsted, became Manager in 2011. She graduated University with a BA Hons in Education and Special Educational Needs.

Georgina works 5 days a week, she also has a son – Lukas.

“It all started when my Mum became a childminder, I would help her before after school. We got our first small nursery after that, everything grew from there. I worked under 2 different managers throughout my years at Broad Oaks Nursery before becoming Manager myself. These 2 ladies taught me different aspects of the job, for that I am thankful. Being a Manager can be hard but my team are amazing. They work hard, they are supportive and they share the values that are promoted through our setting.

They make my job so much easier! Each practitioner at Broad Oaks (including myself) contribute different qualities to the team, we all have our strengths and areas, that we can strive to improve on and that’s what makes our team work. We support each other professionally and personally.Nurturing, teaching being a part of children’s Early Years is an honour. I am very lucky to have the role that I have in their lives”
FAYE - DEPUTY MANAGER Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2020

Faye began her employment here at Broad Oaks Nursery in January 2009, although before this she worked for us on a voluntary basis. Faye has worked hard in her role and through this, became our current Deputy Manger and Pre-School Room Leader. Faye has recently graduated University with her Early Years Childhood Studies, of which we are very proud of her! She works 5 days a week, term time. Faye has 2 children of her own, Ella and Isla.

“I was interested in childcare after doing my work experience at school. When leaving school I went to college where I completed my Level 2. After doing my work placement at Broad Oaks I was given the opportunity to become part of the team; 11 and a half years ago and I’m still here now. I was able to go on to complete my Level 3. I enjoy my job and always like to gain more knowledge to support children’s learning. I have recently completed a 3 year university course in Early Years Childhood Studies and always want to learn more to give children the best opportunities for learning. Broad Oaks is a positive place to work and not only is it my work place, it’s like family. All the staff have strong friendships and we all work together as a strong team to support each other and the children”
SARAH Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2020

Sarah became an employee of Broad Oaks Nursery in September 2008, originally starting prior to this on a voluntary placement. She works within our Pre-School
Room as a Nursery Practitioner. Sarah works 3 days a week (Tuesday – Thursday) & has 2 children of her own, Charlie and Harry.

“I have always been involved in childcare from leaving school but had to put my career on hold to have my own child. Once she was in school I returned and have been at Broad Oaks Nursery from that point and 12 years later I’m still here. It’s not just my work place but I have built great friendships and we are a support to each other. I enjoy thinking of different ideas and activities to help the children to develop in a fun and exciting way. Receiving hugs and smiles as I greet children at the door is a lovely bonus too!

It’s a pleasure to be involved in their many milestones, building their confidence and their independence ready to enter the big school stage of their lives”.

I have started my adventure with working in childcare five years ago. I completed Level 3 in Early Years and I am planning to continue my education and to gain degree.  I have worked in various nurseries and became part of the Broad Oaks Nursery two years ago. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is  a home atmosphere. Working with children is very rewarding, the children benefit from activities as the nursery is not overcrowded and the children have very good bond with key workers and other staff. I highly recommend Broad Oaks Nursery for all the parents and carers.
ALICE Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2020

Alice originally began her employment with us as our cook, in August 2010. Alice expressed her desire to work with the children in a more caring role and in 2015 we were able to make this happen. Alice works in our Toddler room as a Nursery Practitioner, 5 days a week, term time. She has 2 children of her own, Declan and Kenzie.

“I first was interested in childcare when I was at school and did my work experience at a school nursery. After school I chose a different path and became a chef. Many years later after my 2 nd son was born, I had the opportunity to become part of the Broad Oaks family as the cook. It was here that I realised I still had an interest in childcare and Georgina thought that I had the skills and patience to become a practitioner. I began my training and completed my Level 2; I am now nearing the completing of my Level 3.

I have been at Broad Oaks nearly 10 years and I feel such pride in supporting children on their journey in their Early Years. It is extremely rewarding watching them develop and grow before setting off on their own school journey. Working with your children is a blessing and I love helping them discover new abilities and skills whilst playing and having fun. I work among a great team of people who are not just colleagues but friends who I can turn to for support and guidance. This is not just a place of work, it is a family and I am privileged to be apart of it”.
PAIGE Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2020

Paige first came to Broad Oaks Nursery on her college placement was offered a job in January 2013.

Paige is our Toddler Room Leader, working 5 days a week, term time. Paige has 2 children of her own, Leo and Sonny.

“As the oldest sibling of a big family I have always been surrounded by babies and younger children. I was always trying to be ‘mother hen’ to my younger brothers and sisters and knew from a young age that childcare would be the career path I would choose. From the first day I arrived at Broad Oaks on my college placement I felt welcomed straight away, then when I was offered to carry on my course through an apprenticeship I couldn’t wait to start! I worked hard and completed my Level 3 and have never looked back since!

Working at Broad Oaks is more like a family, we have worked together for such a long period of time and we all work so well as a team! Encouraging and supporting children to achieve their goals and reach new milestones is so rewarding and we do this daily by planning and preparing fun and exciting activities for all children’s individual needs”.
